Money Wigram (1790-1873) of Money Wigram and Sons

1790 March 14th. Born in Walthamstow, the son of Robert Wigram and his wife Eleanor Watts; Robert Wigram was very close friends with William Money and christened one of his sons Money.

1813 With his brother Loftus owned a quarter of Wigram and Green

1822 Married Mary Turner in Tandridge[1]

1832 Money Wigram built the first ship for his own account for trade to Australia. The Green family followed suit and began to establish a larger fleet of ships.

1843 On the expiration of the shipbuilding partnership of Wigram and Green, the shipyard was divided down the middle. Money, Wigram & Sons retained the western half.

1851 Money Wigram 61, master ship builder and ship owner, lived in Wanstead with Mary Wigram 49, Money Wigram 28, brewer, Chas Hampshire Wigram 24, ship builder and owner, Clifford Wigram 22, ship builder and owner, Harriett Wigram 21, Eliza Wigram 12, Reynold Wigram 8[2]
