Los Talleres Nuevo Vulcano was a shipyard and engineering works in Barcelona.
Founded in 1826, the factory belonged to the shipping company Compañía Catalana de Vapores. Located initially in the neighborhood of Barceloneta, subsequently moved to the New Dock of the port of Barcelona . Here was built the first iron ship with steam engine of all Spain, the Dolphin (1836). 2
As a foundry, they made numerous iron castings for industry and construction.
In 1916 the factory became the property of the Compañía Transmediterránea . In 1924 it suffered a serious fire. The following year, the business joined the Unión Naval de Levante group and devoted itself solely to naval repair. In 1934 it rejoined the Compañía Transmediterránea, although, and in 1962 returned to the Unión Naval de Levante. In the 1990s it was renamed the Unión Naval Barcelona.
