Omoa Iron Works of Shotts (1789 - 1868)
1787 One of the early large ironworks constructed in Scotland at this time
1791 Partnership dissolved. '... the Copartnership lately subsisting between us, under the Firm of the Omoa Company, is dissolved ; and that the Omoa Iron Works, at Cleland, near Hamilton, in North Britain, will in future be conducted by Lieutenant-Colonel William Dalrymple, at his own Estate at Cleland, on his own separate Account. Wm. Dalrymple. Wm. Waller. John Burgh. Richard Milnes. David Barnes. Thomas Slater.[1]
