1932 Office boy at C. Stevens and Sons after being turned down by Averys.
1934 Stanley set up as sole trader at 34 Moness St., working evenings and weekends, whilst still at Stevens.
1938 He resigned from Stevens.
c1942 First proper premises in Balham.
1945 Founded H. M. Stanley (Scales and Weights)
1946 Assisted in the founding of Stanton Instruments
