FREDERICK W. MONKS died early in 1932 at Bordighera, Italy.
His father was the founder of the firm F. Monks & Co., iron and steel manufacturers, which later became Monks, Hall & Co., Ltd.; he entered the works in 1874, and became managing director of the company. He organised departments for tubes, bedsteads, mattresses, &c., and was concerned with the introduction of the use of Mond gas by the industry.
He joined the Iron and Steel Institute in 1896.
