One of the earliest printing process firms in Britain, producing work of very high quality.
Company formed by Richard André and his nephews. Owned by Cassell and Co
1909 David Greenhill became manager after leaving Bemrose Dalziel
1910 Charles F. Cook (also of Bemrose) joined the company
1913 A. G. Symmons joined; together Greenhill, Cook and Symmons developed the firm’s gravure printing facilities.
1914 Participated in the 5th International Exhibition of the Printing and Allied Trades at the Agricultural Hall, Islington, showing 3 and 4 colour photo-engraving and machine photo-gravure [1]
1914 Their work was exhibited at the Agricultural Hall, London; Edward Hunter of Anglo Engraving Co was sufficiently impressed by its quality to buy the company from Cassells. The company became Andre Sleigh and Anglo.
