1855 Advertisement: 'SECOND SALE. TO IRONMASTERS, IRONFOUNDERS, ENGINEERS, AND OTHERS. GREAT AND IMPORTANT SALE AT THE BILSTON FOUNDRY, BILSTON, STAFFORDSHIRE.
To be SOLD by AUCTION, by Mr. THOMAS DANKS, this present Monday and To-morrow (Tuesday), the 29th and 30th of October, at the Bilston Foundry - all the FOUNDRY and ENGINEERING STOCK belonging to Mr. Joseph Spencer, Engineer and Ironfounder, Bilston, Staffordshire.
The Stock consists of an immense quantity of roll chills, boxparts, corebars, cranes, parts of engines, pig iron, Kershaw's planing machine, Parr, Curtis and Madeley's slotting machine, useful self-acting lathe, brick-making machine, lathe tools, broken castings, several pairs of new rolls, 'turned, blacksmiths' tools, pins and burs, bar steel, vices and benches, small useful castings, immense stock of wood and iron patterns, office fixtures, and numerous other effects.
Catalogues be obtained on application to F. Whitmore, Esq., Official Assignee ; or to Messrs. Colmore and Beale, Solicitors, Waterloo-street, Birmingham ; or to the Auctioneer, Dudley. Sale to commence at eleven o'clock each morning.' [2]
