1874 The company was registered on 16 October, to take over the paint, colour and varnish manufacturing business of the firm of this name.

1889 The company was re-registered on 19 March on an enlarged basis. [1]

1914 Paint, colour, oil and varnish manufacturers. Specialities: petrifying liquids for cure of damp walls and substitute for glazed bricks; metallic galvanizing paints for all metal work; radiators and steam piping; stucco paint, a first-class washable distemper; anti-fouling compositions for ships' bottoms; blended South American turpentines; turpentine substitutes and white spirits.
