1880 Robson, Maynard, and Co. was dissolved; the business will be carried on by Anthony Lax Maynard, William Eden Walker, Thomas Walker, Thomas James, William Cuninghame, and James Cookson, on their own account, under the style or firm of Walker, Maynard and Co.[1]
1889 On the death of the managing partner, Thomas James, W. E. Walker took over the management of the firm
1896 Explosion involving 12 boilers at the works
1900 The company was registered on 5 December, to acquire the business of iron masters and mine owners of the same firm of the same name. [2]
1916 Acquired by Dorman, Long and Co[3]; owned 6 blast furnaces near Redcar, a freehold wharf and ironstone mines in Cleveland.
1917 Dorman, Long built the Redcar Iron & Steel Works on land obtained from Walker, Maynard.
