In 1852, Fermín Lasala, director of the improvement works company of the dock of the port of the city of San Sebastián, commissioned British engineer Eduardo Fossey to construct a dredger. It had a 4 HP steam engine.[1]
1853 Fossey established a foundry and engineering works at Lasarte, near San Sebastián.
1858 Joined by partners, establishing Fossey y Cia.
1868 The business became Fossey, Goicoechea y cía, with Fossey as Director.
Produced iron and brass castings, water turbines, papermaking machinery, coining presses, etc.
