1795 Sampson Bridgwood first manufactured earthenware in Longton

1922 Edward Roper bought James Broadhurst (est. 1870) in Fenton

1980 First manufactured vitrified hotelware

1984 Group renamed Churchill. The Roper Brothers were responsible for the acquisition of Moorcroft.

1991 Acquired Myott-Meakin (Staffordshire) Ltd.

1993 Churchill China plc incorporated

1994 Churchill Group took over the Florence Works of Taylor and Kent in Longton,, built new offices and started manufacture of Queen's ware. Also acquired Bridgwood and Son.

1994 Listed on the London Stock Exchange

2000 Took over the name (but not the works) of the James Sadler and Sons pottery and moved some limited production to the former Myott works in Crane Street, Cobridge. The company had 4 factories in the Potteries; Andrew Roper was managing director at this time.

The Roper family still hold a significant share of the business, ensuring the traditional values of the company remain upheld.

2019 Churchill purchased the Dudson brand plus intellectual property for Harvest and Evo collections.
