1938 April. 'The funeral of Mr. Thomas William Rickard, aged 85, of 5, Baldwyn gardens, Acton, who died on Tuesday in last week, took place at the Acton Cemetery on Tuesday. Mr. Rickard, who was born at Dorchester, Dorset, came to live in London as a young man and settled in Acton in 1912. He was connected with various hardware businesses, and was the founder of the "T.W.R." aluminium foundry in Emmanuel-avenue, Acton. He retired from business in 1930. He was a former member of the Acton Chamber of Commerce. He leaves two sons and two daughters.'[5]
