Established in 1784 by Samuel Greg, of Manchester and Belfast. Continued by (1) Robert Hyde Greg; (2) Edward Hyde Greg; (3) Alexander Greg.

1914 Present Principal: Alexander Greg. Premises: Originally a watermill, still chiefly driven by water power, situated on the River Bollin, twelve miles south of Manchester. Mill contains 500 looms, of which 126 are automatic. Staff: Workshop, 170. Business: Cotton Manufacturers.
