Wayne-Kerr Company had 2 subsidiaries:
- Wayne Kerr Laboratories, Sycamore Grove, New Malden, Surrey
- Wayne Kerr Engineering
later of Chessington, Tolworth and Bognor
1949 David L. Breeden was a director of Wayne-Kerr Laboratories, as well as becoming a director of the new Wilmot Breeden company[1].
1958 Wilmot Breeden acquired a majority interest in Wayne Kerr Co, specialist in electronic measuring equipment[2].
1977 Wayne-Kerr went onto a 3 day week "due to a run down in orders". Although short-time working at Wayne Kerr only lasted for 3 months, the electronics division of Wilmot Breeden made losses of nearly £500k due partly to Ferrograph and partly to Rendar.
1979 Rockwell acquired Wilmot Breeden, including Wilmot Breeden Electronics
1981 WKR was formed as a management buyout of the 2 Wilmot Breeden Electronics businesses (Wayne Kerr and Rendar) from Rockwell International[3]
1983 Wayne Kerr Datum Ltd made CAD systems for design of printed circuits; wayne Kerr Plc was located in Bognor Regis[4]
1985 Public sale of shares in the company was heavily oversubscribed; the company was a specialist in computer-aided design[5].
1987 Acquired the assets of ATE Systems from Fairey[6]
1988 Acquired by Farnell Electronics[7]
