of Norway

Formed by a merger of Norsk Elektrisk Aktiebolag and Brown, Boveri and Co (BBC) of Switzerland.

BBC had established itself in Norway with the subsidiary Brown Boveri Norsk Elektricitets Aktieselskab in 1901, as a continuation of IA Jensen & Dahl's electrical department. In 1906, the company began a collaboration with Norsk Elektrisk Aktiebolag. The collaboration led to the two companies merging in 1908. The new company was named Aktieselskabet Norsk Elektrisk & Brown Boveri (NEBB).
