1976 Acquired Otis Elevator Co.
1979 Acquired Carrier Refrigeration and Mostek.
2018 Acquired avionics maker Rockwell Collins, giving sufficient scale to the aerospace business to exist as a stand-alone company; hence decided to spin off Otis Elevator Co and Carrier Corporation.
2020 Divestment of Otis and Carried completed.
