1876 John Shearer established a smithing business.
1877 His brothers David Shearer joined him. David had migrated to Australia from the Orkney Islands in 1852 and trained as a Blacksmith
1885 Started construction of a steam driven vehicle and it was completed 12 years later
1899 Maiden journey of the steam carriage
1936 David died
