Metalrax Group plc produced and marketed the majority of bakeware sold in the UK, together with associated ranges of kitchen accessories to both retail and commercial markets. Complementary products included microwave cookware, wine racks and wooden and plastic housewares

1964 Metalrax (Holdings) was incorporated as a Public Limited Company and floated on the Birmingham Stock Exchange[1]; the company was formed by the amalgamation of four companies involved in metal fabrication, engineering contracting, tyre tread trucks, storage equipment.

1977 Acquired Bacol Industries[2]

1978 Acquired Joseph Fray[3]

By 1979 the Group had grown to eighteen companies, through a combined strategy of selective acquisitions of successful engineering businesses and consistent organic growth. This was also the year that the Group decided to diversify, acquiring the first company in the Consumer Durables Division.
