Archibald Kirkwood Dodds (1885-1968), Civil Engineer and Architect
1885 Born the son of Archibald Jack Dodds, a Grocer and Tea Dealer, and his wife Harriet Elizabeth Makins
1902 Articled to James Macintyre Henry of Edinburgh in 1902 and attended classes at the Edinburgh School of Art and Heriot-Watt College.
1907 On completion of his apprenticeship he moved to London and joined the staff of Fair and Myer as junior architectural draughtsman. Two years later he took up a position as draughtsman in H. M. Office of Works, London, where he remained for two years.
1911 Became architectural draughtsman and engineering assistant to L. G. Mouchel and Partners
WWI Served with the Royal Engineers in France, Belgium and Italy.
1919 Married at Fylde to Jean Brown
1919 Returned to L. G. Mouchel & Partners, where he was appointed Director in 1922.
1939 Living at Guildford, Civil Engineer. With Jean Dodds.[1]
