1839 Advertisement. 'G. R. ELKINGTON and Co. inform the different trades they are now prepared to GILD SILVER and STEEL GOODS generally, as well as every variety of COPPER and BRASS, whether cast or stamped. They have also completed their Patent Process for Silvering or Plating Copper, Brass, and German Silver. Patent Gilding Works, Newhall-street.'[1]
1843 Partnership dissolved. '...the Partnership subsisting between George Richards Elkington, William Hammond Turner, James Turner, Henry Turner, John Hardman the elder, John Hardman the younger, and Jeremiah Iliffe, of Birmingham, Gilders, carried on under the firm of G. R. Elkington and Co. was this day dissolved by mutual consent...'[2]
