- 1899 The company was registered on 26 May, to take over the Weston-super-Mare Electric Lighting Order, 1891, and was authorised to construct about four miles or tramways, of which three have been completed. The Local Authority may purchase the Electric Lighting undertaking within six months of the expiration of 10.5 years from 31 December. The Local Authority may purchase the tramways at the expiration of 10, 16 or 22 years from 31 December, at a fair market value as a going concern. [1]
