John Kemp Starley was born in 1877.

He joined the Rover Company at the commencement of his career and remained with them for fourteen years as Assistant Works Manager and later Works Manager. He became a Director of the Company in 1907.

He died in August, 1941, at the age of 64.

He was elected a Member in 1907.
