1870 William Henry Dorman started in business.
1875 In partnership with Mr. W. Walker, Dorman started the engineering business which he carried on in Foregate Street[1] manufacturing cutting tools for the footwear industry, but soon began to produce more specialised machinery such as printing, sewing and grinding machines.
1882 Dissolution of the Partnership between William Henry Dorman and William Walker, carrying on business as Engineers, at Stafford, under the style or firm of Dorman and Walker, expired by effluzion of time. William Henry Dorman carried on the business under the style of W. H. Dorman and Co[2]
