John Cochrane and Sons of Barrhead.
1850 Business established as Grahamston Foundry and Engine Works, Barrhead, by Mr Cochrane
Became the business of John Cochrane (1857-1917), the founder's son.
1889 Horizontal Corliss engine used in the Glasgow Exhibition. [1]
By 1922 the company was J. Cochrane (Barrhead) Ltd
1930 The company was bought by Andrew Barclay, Sons and Co
