1969 Company formed by the merger of John Crossley-Carpet Trades Holdings Ltd and the Carpet Manufacturing Co Ltd and the consolidation of their interests in Kosset Carpets Ltd[1]. It consisted of 2 executive groups:
- Yorkshire Group - John Crossley, Kosset Carpets, Crosslee Yarns, Illingworth, and Spur Doubling Mill
- Kidderminster Group - Carpet Manufacturing Co, Gilt Edge Carpets, Debron Carpets, Cooper and Co, Long Meadow Felt Co.
It was expected to dominate the Axminster and Wilton carpet fields as well as owning one of the major tufted carpet makers[2]
