John Standring and Brother, to SELL BY AUCTION, on Thursday the 22d December, 1853, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at the Livesey- street Mill, Oldham Road ; Manchester, ONE Portable High Pressure STEAM ENGINE, cylinder 14 1/4 inches diameter, 2½ft stroke, with Goodfellow's patent metallic piston, new wrought-iron cross head and sides [slides?], flywheel, 12 feet diameter; horizontal cast iron shaft, 9 feet long, 5 inches diameter, with a pair of first motion wheels 3 feet 4 inches and 2 feet 8 inches diameter, 5 inches broad, and fixings for ditto; one portable high-pressure steam engine, cylinder 10 inches diameter, 2 feet stroke, with Goodfellow's patent metallic piston; new wrought iron cross head, fly wheel, 8 feet diameter; wrought-iron horizontal shaft, 5½ feet long, 4 inches diameter, with pair of first-motion 2 feet 9 inches and 2 feet 2 inches diameter, 4 inches broad, and the above are to be sold in consequence of the owner putting down a larger engine.
