1850 John Jarvis founded the firm
1907 Incorporated as a private limited company
Expansion in and beyond London. Notable projects included Radcliffe Power Station in Lancashire, Sark Lighthouse and a church in Australia.
1920s and 30s: work included underground railway stations, municipal garages, factories and offices
WWII Constructed airfields, factories and offices
1959 Incorporated as a public company.
1986 The last member of the Jarvis family working in the company retired
1987 Acquisition of controlling interest by Messrs Reuben and Bard. Property development was a significant part of the business.
