1955 Baker Platinum Ltd, Hanovia Products Ltd and Hanovia Lamps Ltd were brought together in one company called Engelhard Industries[1]

1967 Acquired the gold refining and manufacturing business of N. M. Rothschild and Sons, one of the 5 London-based bullion dealers[2]

1972 Proposed merger with Sheffield Smelting was not referred to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission[3]
