Power was provided by an impressive 1850 HP vertical triple expansion engine made by Browett, Lindley and Co in 1907. Cylinders 24", 36" and 50" bore, 4 ft stroke. 24 ft dia. flywheel. 80 rpm. 200 psi. Photo from Arthur Roberts' collection here.
