1901 The Freear and Dix Steam Shipping Company Limited was registered, with a capital of £50,000, to acquire all or any of the shares or interest in the steamships Remembrance, Perseverance, and Lebanon, of the port of Sunderland, and Ellington, of the port of Newcastle, all previously under the management of Messrs Freear and Dix.[1]
