Whisky distillers, Campbeltown
1824 This is thought to be the date of foundation but there is a lack of hard evidence. The only reliable sources are directories, which indicate that in 1837 the proprietors were Kirkwood, Taylor and Co.
1861 By now the proprietors were Robert Colville and Co, and this was still the case in 1878.
1882 The distillery is thought to have closed in this year. It was certainly not visited by Alfred Barnard, nor even mentioned though he toured the neighbouring Burnside Distillery in 1886.
