The firm was established by Sir Walter Herbert Cockerline (1856-1941), who built up his fleet from the initial purchase of two steamers, Baidar and Spark. The vessels in the fleet were all given names that ended in "ic", such as Atlantic.[1]
1941 W. H. Cockerline and Company Limited was registered, with nominal capital of £1,000, to carry on business as shipbrokers, agents and managers.[2]
1958 The company was dissolved.[3]
