The joinery department produced some of the finest joinery in the North West of England with examples at Manchester Town Hall Extensions, Manchester Free Trade Hall, Bank of England, Albert Hall Manchester, Stockport Plaza, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and John Rylands Library. The saying in the 1950's was that Gerrard's built half of Manchester.

1963 Joined the Multi-Storey Construction Association of Glasgow.

1969 Amalgamated with the Fram Group and became Fram Gerrard.

1973 Taken over by the Leonard Fairclough Civil Engineering Group

Later to become AMEC in the 1980s.
