SAXON ALFRED BADGER received his technical education at Sheffield University and his practical training at the works of Messrs. Badger and Sons, of Rotherham, from 1891 to 1898. In the following year he joined Messrs. Thomas Firth and Sons, of Sheffield, and gained further experience in mechanical engineering until 1903 when he was appointed engineer and millwright to Messrs. J. J. Habershon and Sons, of Rotherham, remaining with the firm for some seventeen years.
In 1919 - he became chief engineer to Messrs. J. B. and S. Lees, Ltd., West Bromwich, and held this position until his resignation, due to ill health, in 1936. Latterly he was employed as plant draughtsman at the Rover "Shadow" Factory, Birmingham. Mr. Badger, whose death in his sixty-seventh year occurred on 3rd January 1944, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1913.
