1915 June. The Liverpool munitions committee approached the Cunard Steam Ship Co to establish a munitions factory.

The NSF Liverpool was a new warehouse in Gladstone Docks (Rimrose Road). Munitions supplied were 4.5in, 6in and 8in shells.

The factory and its machinery were described and illustrated in great detail in Engineering in 1918 [1] [2]
