1902 Set up in Britain as a company jointly by some Armenian oil entrepreneurs - A. I. Mantashev and the brothers Gukasov. The company established relations with British Petroleum[1] as part of a European effort to counter the rise of Standard Oil of USA
1911 The British interests of the company were acquired by British Petroleum Co[2]
1916 The Zeppelin L-33 bombed the East End of London at Bromley and Bow. Fires and severe damage were caused to the Homelight Oil Co. in Old Ford Rd[3]
1917 Became a member of the Pool Board, set up by the government to control distribution of petroleum products[4].
1917 The company was acquired from the Public Trustee by Anglo-Persian Oil Co, together with 2 other companies which had been owned by the same German concern, British Petroleum and the Petroleum SteamShip Co[5].
1919 The Scottish parts of Home Light Oil Co were incorporated in the new company Scottish Oils[6]
