of Bristol

The Colliery is situated on the banks of the river Avon, within the limits of the Bristol docks.

Worked from 1906-1926, on the site of an earlier brass works, the Hanham Spelter Works. Remaining buildings from the colliery are a powder magazine and a winding engine house.[1]. See here for Heritage Gateway entry for Engine House, Hanham Colliery, Memorial Road, Hanham.
