Louis John Le Mesurier (1882-1951)

1882 Born in County Cork[1], presumably son of Lieut-Colonel Frederick Augustus Le Mesurier R.E.

1906 His career began as an Engineer Lieutenant in Royal Navy

1911 Engineer Lieutenant, living in Gillingham, Kent[2]

Transferred to Armstrong Whitworth, Newcastle-on-Tyne, where he was in charge of Diesel Dept., constructing machinery for submarines.

1915 Married Kate R Bird in Newcastle[3]

1918 Living in Newcastle-upon-Tyne with Kate Renee Le Mesurier [4]

Spent some years with Sulzer during the development of their marine engines

1923 Eng-Lieut-Commander Le Mesurier wrote an article on the history of Diesel engines[5]

1939 Consulting Engineer, Anglo-Iranian Oil Co., Britannic House, Finsbury Circus London, E.C.2.

1946 Married Alison Beakley or Greenwell in Cornwall[6]

1951 Died in Westerland Marland, Devon[7]
