Arthur Ernest Higgs (1888-1964)


1964 Obituary [1]

Mr A. E. Higgs (Member), a former Chairman of the Western Branch, died on the 13th January, 1964.

Mr Higgs joined the National Smelting Corporation in 1917 and was appointed Chief Engineer of the Company's branches at Avonmouth, Swansea, Seaton Carew, Bloxwich and Newport in 1923.

He worked for some time in Australia and later became Technical Manager of the Sulphide Corporation Division of the Broken Hill Corporation Ltd.

Mr Higgs became an Associate Member of this Institution in 1928 and a Member in 1934.
