A rare example of an iron lenticular truss skew road bridge. Span: of 86ft 3in (26.3m). The main top (compression) members are H-section cast iron arches of H-section. The main bottom (tension) members are flat wrought iron eye bars. There are twelve panels to the trusses incorporating eleven verticals of round bar with diagonal flats. An additional lower bottom member of square bar is coupled to the truss by cast clamps which carry the cross tie-rods, probably added in 1862. There are horizontal and vertical cross bracings of wrought iron flats. Timber deck on timber and iron cross joists.

Made in 1842 by Shildon Works in conjunction with John Storey of Darlington, for the Bishop Auckland and Weardale Railway. Span 86 feet 3 inches. It carried a farm track across the railway.

Grade II* listed.
