Brickmaker
1865 Joseph Cliff established the furnaces at Frodingham to make iron.
Later the company became Joseph Cliff and Sons (Frodingham), trading as the Frodingham Iron Co
Later became Frodingham Iron and Steel Co.

JOSEPH CLIFF died at his residence at Scawby Grove, Lincoln, in June 1914, at the age of seventy-three. He was one of the principals of the Frodingham Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
He was an original member of the Iron and Steel Institute, having been elected in 1869.
