1853 The company was incorporated.
1863 The line opened on 31st December.
1889 Engineer is C. E. Stewart.[1]
1908 The line is 82.5 miles in length. [2]
July 1953 Railway line closed but continued as bus services under the name Lough Swilly Bus Co until April 2014, becoming the oldest railway company established in the Victorian era to continue trading as a commercial concern into the 21st century.[3]
