1916 Alex Currie and Sons Limited was registered as a private company, with capital of £5,000, to continue or extend the business formerly carried on by Alexander Currie & Sons and Alexander Currie, or to open new businesses as bakers, purveyors, butchers, grocers, hotel keepers, tobacco, tea, and grain merchants or brokers.[1]
