1982 J. Bibby and Sons purchased the European laboratory glassware business of Corning of USA, including the factory at Stone, the Pyrex brand and certain other interests[1]. These would be grouped together under a new Bibby subsidiary, Scientific Products. In the long run, this will form the core of a new Scientific Products division within Bibby, taking in the Sterilin hospital and laboratory supplies operation [2]
