PERCY VIVIAN GRAY was born on the 11th October, 1879, and was educated at Haileybury College and the Crystal Palace School of Engineering. After spending 3 years with Messrs. [[Handcock and Dykes]], consulting engineers, he was for a short time Assistant Engineer in the Leatherhead Electricity Supply Co. In 1905 he went to Bombay for the [[Brush Electrical Engineering Co]]., and in the following year was appointed Mains, Meter and Consumers' Superintendent by the Bombay Electric Supply and Tramways Co. In 1914 he returned to this country and joined [[Callender's Cable and Construction Co]]. as an engineer in the Overseas Department, where he did much valuable work, his knowledge of Indian conditions being particularly useful. He retired from the company's service in 1936. Increasing deafness somewhat limited his activities in the last years of his life, but those who knew him will always remember him as one who held his friends firmly by reason of his transparent integrity and sincerity.
