Marconi Electronic Devices, sister company to Marconi Avionics.[1]
1980 After the breakdown of the intended link with Fairchild of USA (presumably GEC-Fairchild), GEC decided to establish a new subsidiary, Marconi Electronic Devices, to bring together its various semiconductor activities; these included:[2]
- AEI Semiconductors
- GEC Semiconductors
- The micro-electronics division of Marconi Space and Defence Systems
The company would design and develop and manufacture integrated circuits, hybrid microelectronics, microwave semiconductor devices and power semiconductor devices. Lincoln would be the the home for a new VSLI (very large scale integrated circuit) production facility as well as the design centre.
1981 Received order for power electronic devices for the cross-channel power link being equipped by GEC Power Engineering[3]
1989 Managed the test of electronic tagging system[4]
Presumably later became part of GEC Plessey Semiconductors
