Wholesale Seed Merchants and Growers
1887 Established by David Bell and August Bieberstedt. Business: The Importing and Exporting of all kinds of Seeds—Clovers, Ryegrass, Natural Grasses, Turnip and Mangold, Vegetable Seeds, Bird Seeds.
1914 The firm was dissolved as at 1st July 1914, by mutual consent, by the retiral therefrom of August Bieberstedt, one of the partners. The business was continued by David Bell under his own name.[1]
1921 David Bell Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £120,000.[2]
1968 The company, by now trading as David Bell (Properties) Limited and with a registered office at 66 Queen Street, Edinburgh, went into voluntary liquidation.[3]
1973 The company was dissolved.[4]
