1920 October 19th. Died. 'The death occurred, yesterday, of Mr. James Elston Waring, of Althorpe House, Branch Hill, Hampstead, director of Messrs. Waring and Gillow, of Bold-street, Liverpool, Oxford-street, London, and North-road, Lancaster. The deceased, who was born on the 7th March, 1862, was the third son of the late Mr. Samuel James Waring, of Liverpool, founder of the firm, and brother of Sir Samuel J. Waring. He spent many years of his life in Liverpool, during which time he was closely associated with the volunteer movement, and at the time of his departure from the city he was major in the West Lancashire Artillery. He left Liverpool about 13 years ago to take charge the galleries in London, belonging to the firm.
