Ivor Bertie Guest, 1st Baron Wimborne (29 August 1835)- (22 February 1914), was a Welsh industrialist and a founder of the company that became GKN
- 1835 Sir Ivor Bertie Guest was born in Dowlais, Wales, the son of Lady Charlotte Guest, translator of the Mabinogion, and John Josiah Guest, owner of Dowlais Ironworks the world's largest iron foundry.
- He was educated in Harrow School in Middlesex.
- He went on to graduate at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1856 with a degree of Master of Arts.
- The 1st Baron was an uncle-by-marriage of Sir Winston Churchill. The middle name (Bertie) is from his mother's family, the Earls of Abingdon, descended from a Tudor courtier who married the Dowager Duchess of Suffolk, and herself suo jure Baroness Willoughby de Eresby.
- He held the office of High Sheriff of Glamorgan in 1862.
- He was the mayor of Poole from 1896-1897.
- 1899 He sold the Dowlais Ironworks for £1.5 million to Arthur Keen
- He died at the age of 78 in Canford Manor, Dorset. His will was probated in April 1914, provisionally at £250,000.
