Santon Mining Co, of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.
- In contrast to the companies established in the area in the second half of the 19th century, who exploited outcrops of ironstone, the Santon Mining Co was the first attempt at underground ironstone mining in the Frodingham Ironstone field.
- 1909 - first of the papers deposited at National Archive[1]
- Booklet illustrated the first twenty years of mining from the mid 1930's; mine operated until the cessation of ironstone mining in north Lincolnshire[2].
- 1938 the first underground workings commenced, called Winn's Ironstone Mine
- 1952 Acquired from Iron and Steel Corporation of Great Britain by United Steel Companies [3].
- 1978 - last of the papers deposited at National Archive[4]
